Today, I watched in Bruges with Colin Farrell,Brendan Gleeson ,and Ralph Fiennes. While watching I saw a rather interesting part. The ring leader of everything, Harry (Ralph Fiennes), gets fustrated with Ken(Brendon Gleeson) because he won't kill Ray (Colin Farrell). Harry slams the phone and shatters it on his desk, causing his wife to come in and inquire to what is wrong. They yell at each other and Harry calls her "an inanimate f***ing object". Later, they talk and he apologizes to her, saying he didn't mean it and he has to go off on business to kill Ken because he wouldn't kill Ray.
That action (the apology) reminds me a bit of a SOPRANO-esque type of relationship, where behind every man is a strong woman. The fact that he felt very bad and apologized and clearly cares about her so much shows that there are in fact strong women behind the strong man- changes of times. In the past there have been similar relationships, but now, in today's day-in-age, we see this much more often; which is good considering in history we see that men could even get away with even beating their wives with no repercussions.
